Use your Mini or MINI in motorsport

The Mini Cooper was created by John Cooper and BMC in 1961 specifically to provide Mini drivers a vehicle with which to compete in motorsport. With the introduction of the Mini Cooper S in 1963, a string of national and international race and rallies were achieved by the factory works team of professional drivers and enterprising private owners. These major successes at Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Monte-Carlo, the Nurbürgring and other locations worldwide created a legendary profile for the Mini, which it still holds today. Whether you want to enter your Mini for a race series, rally it at international level or just use it in a gentle club run or touring assembly, your fellow members of the Mini Cooper Register may be able to offer advice and help with your preparations and performance on the event. Contact the Competitions Secretary in the first instance, , and they will put you in contact with any resource that the MCR can offer. In addition to participating in motorsport events, the Mini Cooper Register organises non-competitive tours including our popular Minis to the Alps and Minis to Ireland events in the UK and Europe. The Mini Cooper Register is a motorclub registered with Motorsport UK. Club members can enter motorsport events using only their club card as identification, if the MCR is an invited club for that event. Other UK motorsport events, and those outside the UK, will require a Competition Licence which can be acquired from or your national ASN if you are resident outside the UK.
